This recording by the Brox Sisters starts with an introductory verse that 'sets the story straight'- the love story between a man and a woman named Sue is being heard over the radio.
Interesting, the vocalists use the pronoun 'we' instead of the sheet music's 'I' to identify themselves as a collective.
After the introduction, it is easy to read this song as an oopsie gaysie, with the singers taking on the first person perspective of Sue's similarly broken hearted ex.
